This past Friday our daughter, Megan, graduated from her residency program. She finished her residency of Internal Medicine at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. It has been a long twelve years for her — college, medical school, internship and residency. We are so very proud of all the work she has done. She even worked through her nine months of pregnancy while sick every day — and still went to work.
Sarah, Bethany and I went to Georgia for her graduation and it was really nice. I was so glad we decided to make the trip. Sarah loves Megan so much and they have a special bond. Megan spent time helping me teach Sarah when she was little and it formed a bond that is still there. When Sarah hears Megan’s name she lights up. So, it was a very special time for Sarah, too.
We also got to see, Jack — our grandson. I think he is one cute kid.
After her graduation I decided to take Sarah and Bethany to Tybee Island since we were only three hours away. I thought it would be nice for the girls to have a day at the ocean. It ended up that we didn’t get there until almost nine that night and had to check out at eleven the next morning so we really had very little time on the beach. But, they loved it. Sarah was so excited. It surprised me, as she doesn’t usually get so excited about things. She absolutely loved the beach and didn’t want to leave. Both girls really had a good time and I was glad we made the short trip.
