Simmering Potpourri

Today we were in a fall mood and made gingerbread this morning and then made simmering potpourri this afternoon. I put it in the crock pot and it smelled so good. As soon as you walked in the house it was wonderful. All we used were oranges, lemons, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, vanilla and cloves. So easy and smells so wonderful.

Then Tess made pumpkin spice cookies and completed our fall afternoon. The kids enjoyed cookies and a few hours Megan brought them all ice cream sundaes. A great day and so fallish.

Also, Shep came over today to hunt pinecones so he could make a birdfeeder. He was so cute walking all over with a little bucket putting pinecones in it. The birdfeeders didn’t exactly work out as planned, but I won’t go into that. It was a great idea, anyway.

Cousins

I love to have my grandkids come over and see them play together. I think this visit on Sunday had Shep a little jealous of Kennedy – who wouldn’t want a chocolate fudgesicle. Shep’s mom said no and Kennedy sure wasn’t going to share hers.
