No matter the weather, Bella is going to swing on the hammock or the swing. Today she chose the hammock, though it was cold and snowing. She didn’t even seem to notice the weather.
We have been getting three eggs a day from our hens and for the first time today we got four. We were very excited and now all four of our hens are laying eggs.
Several of the girls and Joshua and Madelyn have been exploring a little. They went into some woods and found the first burial place of Lt. General Ambrose Powell Hill. Most of us think of him as A. P. Hill from the Civil War. Bethany started doing some research on him and found out that he was first buried in the little cemetery in the woods and then later moved to Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, and then later he was moved and buried under a statue of himself near Hermitage Road and Laburnum Ave. in Richmond. When the monument was taken down he was moved to Culpeper, VA where his parents are buried. So, he has had four burial places. Another little bit of information Bethany found out was that he was buried standing up, as he requested that before he died. Bethany says she is going to do a lot more research on him. All of this has sparked her interest.
They brought home a few things that were in the woods. They were pretty excited about all they found and saw. I don’t know why they didn’t get a picture of his tombstone.
