Our 4th of July

I’m just going to post some pictures from our 4th tonight. We had a nice evening and most of the family was here — a few had to work. Katie came but got called back to work as she was on call. The kids had a lot of fun and I had fun watching them run around together.

My daughter, Megan, from Louisiana was here with her three kids. Her son, Jack, is two and has never been around his cousins or all those aunts and uncles he has, but he seemed to have fun with them.

We turned on the sprinklers for a little while and the kids couldn’t stay out of the water. They also found the hose.

Home Improvements

The outdoor kitchen seemed to have fallen into disarray over the past few weeks. Bethany went outside one afternoon this past weekend and decided it was time for them to get it fixed up a little and maybe change a few things. Somehow stones had been moved and their oven had been taken apart and there were quite a few things gone or broken. So, the girls set to work cleaning and trying to put things back in place. They spent a couple of hours working and organizing and making it look nice again.

Bethany had some money so she bought a few new items and then the girls put things back in place and picked some flowers and tried to make it nice in their little spot in the corner of the yard. It took them a couple of days of work, but they were very happy playing and cleaning. This kitchen is something they always come back to again and again — though it has been pretty hot to spend much time in it lately.
