I have never like crafts or been a crafty person. My older children can vouch for that. I almost never did crafts with them. Somehow, Bethany seems to have changed that. She loves crafts. She is always wanting to make something or paint something or look through a craft book. I have actually started to enjoy finding things for her to do and make. So unlike me.
About a week or so ago I found Bethany and Andrew with some cardboard and scissors making something. I couldn’t imagine what it was by looking. They said it was a doll house. Bethany continued to work on it for several days and finally finished. It didn’t really look like much but she sure loved making it.
Then the other day she said she had to paint it. Doesn’t look very sturdy — does it?
So she spent an hour or so painting and fixing it up a little. Looks like something is falling off — maybe.
This child just loves working on some project or another.
She is almost always happy and so energetic and full of life. Sometimes it is hard to believe that she has a disease that can be so devastating.
She takes her treatments — that are so time consuming — in stride most of the time.
She is just a joy to be around. She painted and painted and loved every minute of making this little house. I enjoyed just watching — and taking pictures to remember this day.
She probably won’t ever play with this house, as making it is the real fun for her.
Just about done. She said she had to redo some things another day — maybe fix the garage. I asked what the straws were and she said they were small chimneys for small stoves or fireplaces.
