Moving Into The Holiday Season

I know it probably seems early to even mention the holidays to many, but we are early starters. So many of my kids were waiting for this day – the first of November. I got up this morning to a text from one of my daughters “It’s time”. She meant it is time to start planning for Christmas and Thanksgiving and shopping and maybe even a little decorating. I am ready to get started as soon as I can get Bethany’s and Tess’s room finished. Joey is working on painting it now and then he is putting in the new floor after that. I just want it finished so we can get their new beds in and maybe put up a few pictures, find a carpet and then get the lamps. Then we might just start a few Christmas projects.

Today I had lots of company – Evelyn and Liam were here and Joshua and Madelyn were because their mom and dad were putting primer on the walls and then I had Jack, Penny and Oliver. Megan did order dinner for all of us so that made things easy. Penny and I did some baking. We first made gingerbread and then she helped me grind the wheat to make bread. She is definitely interested in making things in the kitchen and was actually a pretty good helper – though I don’t like too much help when making bread.
