What We Are Reading

We haven’t seemed to have read quite as much this month and I’m not sure why. But, we have read the next three books by Tomie DePaola – What a Year, Things Will Never Be the Same, and I’m Still Scared. The kids enjoyed all of them and they are a quick and easy read, but interesting. Then we read Tilly’s Strange Secret by Christine Noble Govan. It is the third in the series about Polly and Jenny and Tilly from  The Pink Maple House — which is one of our favorites. Then we read Little Pear by Eleanor Frances Lattimore about a little boy in China. And last of all for this month is The Curious Clubhouse by Christine Govan. We have enjoyed all the books, though none of them have made it to our list of favorites.
We decided to track our time on our bookmark by the month. Since this is the last day of January we will reset the timer on the bookmark tomorrow. We read 20 hours and 11 minutes this month. It has been kind of fun keeping track and we will reset and start all over tomorrow. Bethany always remembers to have me get the bookmark timer and start it — something kind of fun about seeing how many hours you read each month.
Still no computer. Maybe by the end of the week. I really miss taking pictures and loading them on my computer. But, again, I will post a few old pictures that were in folders on Bill’s computer. They are all from 2011.

And last of all a picture I took of Bethany on my bed.

Katie

I still don’t have my computer or know if they can retrieve the information for my pictures from the hard drive or not. It will apparently be another week at least. I really miss my computer and being able to load my pictures onto it.
In all the sickness and visiting and everything that was going on at Christmas there was something I forgot to mention. Our daughter, Katie, is engaged. She got her diamond on Christmas Eve and showed us at the candlelight Christmas Eve service. We are so happy for her and Ben. I would post a picture of her and Ben but can’t because I don’t have my computer. But, I have a couple of pictures of Katie from 2011 that I found and I will post those. Hopefully, she doesn’t care, as I never know if one of my girls will say — why did you put that up?

I asked Katie when they planned on getting married and she told me she had no idea. Funny thing is that she is marrying a guy whose mom has been a friend of mine for around 17 years. Katie moved out in June of 2016 after she graduated from nursing school. She moved into an apartment with one of her friends. Katie was so quiet and calm when she lived at home, and I can honestly say I don’t think I ever heard her say one angry thing to my younger kids. I have no idea how she lived here with so many kids and stayed so calm. But, she did, and they all love her to death — especially Bella.
