The Twenty-Four Days Before Christmas – Day 18

Today our special thing was really small. We took Christmas Books and put them in baskets and buckets and placed them around the room so they could be easily found and read. We do this every year as the kids love our Christmas books so much, but this year we are really late. I was just tired today and really just wanted to do nothing so I figured getting out the books was as close to nothing as I could get and the kids would still have fun. Sure enough, as soon as the books were brought out everyone was grabbing a book and reading. We have so many nice Christmas books and so many memories reading them together. So, I had an easy lazy day and now we have lots of Christmas books in the family room.

The Twenty-Four Days Before Christmas – Day 17

Today our special thing was to hang snowflakes. Bethany started by hanging them first in her room – and Tess’s. They will continue hanging them in the kitchen tomorrow. Then probably Piper’s room. They have been cutting snowflakes for days and days. They really do look pretty hanging from the ceiling and I will get a picture tomorrow in the morning light of them hanging all over the room.

We got a lot done today. We got all the ornaments on our library tree and brought in our hall tree – though it sits undecorated. We also wrapped a ton of gifts and four girls got all their shopping done and then came home and wrapped. We still have much to do, but I feel like I might get everything finished. And on top of getting a lot done it was an absolutely beautiful day.
