Today our special thing was to decorate our Christmas tree and have some snacks. Tess made Rice Krispies Treats and Bethany made fudge. We brought down our two buckets of ornaments we use for our family room tree. The kids spent a long time just looking at all the ornaments and finding all theirs from past years. Shep and Abigail were here and Shep wanted to look through all the ornaments, too. It was a good day – the snacks were good and the kids had fun decorating the tree.
Today we started our Twenty-Four Days Before Christmas tradition. We chose something easy that everyone wanted to do – Bethany made our special fudge recipe that was given to us by Bill’s grandmother years and years ago. Our family calls it our secret recipe. We have made this every year for Christmas since I can remember and everyone loves it. So, Bethany made two batches and everyone else ate it and it was enjoyed very much.
