On Friday afternoon one of my older daughters brought the kids a S’mores machine and all the stuff to make them so they could make S’mores inside while it is so cold. They absolutely loved this. As soon as school was over they started making them and they had so much fun. Then on Saturday Evelyn and Liam came over and they made them again. This was a wonderful gift and I know we will be using it a lot. I tell them all the time that big sisters are definitely a blessing.

We also started using our Mark-My-Time bookmark again in January. Somehow I got out of the habit of using it and then saw it sitting in my school basket and decided to start up again. So, this month we read 29 hours and 52 minutes. This was actually a good reading month for us and I am planning to continue using the Mark-My-Time bookmark for the next few months. It is fun to see how much we have read – or how little. We just finished the book The Penderwicks On Gardam Street by Jeanne Birdsall. Everyone liked it but most of the kids said they liked Miracles On Maple Hill better.

Then today at church the girls’ Sunday school teacher brought Bethany two dolls as she knows that Bethany likes to collect dolls. Bethany has always been a doll lover and now she still likes to collect them and says she probably always will. I happen to be a doll lover, too. I played with my dolls when I was a kid so long that I was embarrassed to let my friends know and so played with them secretly.

  1. What a great idea – I will have to look for the s’mores machine!

  2. I love S’mores, too, but will have to settle for fireplace toasted marshmallows minus the chocolate and graham crackers, if this ice storm knocks out power.

Tell Bethany Theriault’s doll auction company is having an online auction on Feb.4 – tomorrow. The catalog is online, and there are some beautiful dolls included! Also check out Florence Theriault’s videos on YouTube – very interesting and informative.

Keep well and warm during this hard winter…
