The Twenty-Four Days Before Christmas – Day 4

Today our “special thing” wasn’t exactly one thing. We decided we would do all we could today to get our house ready for Christmas. That way we would have a lot more time to read and just spend time together in this season that ends so quickly. So, we went through the attic and brought down all the ornaments for the family room tree, Bethany decorated the plant in the family room – well, actually a little artifical tree we have up all year. We finished the tree in my room, made fudge for Bethany and Tess’s recital this evening and put candles in all the downstairs windows. Then we got the hall tree out of the shed and fluffed the branches out so we could decorate it tomorrow, and then Aria and Tess went out and got me a few branches off our holly tree so I could use them on our mantle. We even got a few gifts wrapped. It was a busy day, but I think we all enjoyed it and it was nice to get a lot done.

Then we went to the recital which was very nice. We came home and watched a movie – The Christmas Box. It was a nice ending to our day.

I hope you enjoyed the movie, The Christmas Box. Richard Paul Evans is my very favorite author and I have read every book he has ever released. I just got his new Christmas one, and it’s waiting for me! He writes one every year about the holiday!

What a lot you got done in one day!

  2. We really did love the movie – though we have seen it many times. I also have been reading some books by Richard Paul Evans this year. I just finished the The Broken Road trilogy and really liked it. He writes some really good books.
