The Twenty-Four Days Before Christmas – Day 10

Today I spent the day with several of my older girls. We went to a very large antique mall and then out to lunch together. I got some vintage paper dolls for Aria, found a vinyl Christmas album for Bethany and a book on painting with watercolors that she likes. I also found some ornaments for the tree and three little cottages that I really liked and thought the girls might like to use to decorate. I also found a few Christmas books we didn’t have so I got them. It was a really nice day together.

Because I was gone most of the day our special thing for today was very small, but enjoyable. I got peppermint ice cream for the girls. They always notice when the stores start stocking the peppermint ice cream and it makes Christmas seem closer. They all enjoyed it this evening after I got home.

The Twenty-Four Days Before Christmas – Day 9

Today our special thing was that I gave out Christmas jammies. I almost didn’t buy them this year and because I was so late I had a little trouble getting all the right sizes, but everyone got a pair and they all fit except that most of them were a little too long.

While I took Sarah and Caroline Christmas shopping today, Bethany decided to set up a small village on a table in our front hall. It turned out nice and I was really glad she did it but a bit surprised. Surprised, because Bethany doesn’t like a lot of change and we have had a tree in that hall for as long as I can remember. But, we just seem a little behind this year and I have said several times that I wasn’t sure if I could get the hall done. I had not even bought a tree for it yet. Anyway, Bethany decided that she would try to do something to make it look more festive out there and take the weight of trying to get a tree and get it decorated off me. It was very nice.

I didn’t take any pictures of the kids with their new jammies on as I was late giving them out because we were pretty busy today. As soon as I gave them out we had to go to church and by the time we got home it was late and I was rushing everyone to get ready for bed. I will try to get a picture of them tomorrow. But, I do have a few pictures I took that I can post. I felt like I got right much done today and actually got three more Christmas presents ordered tonight at church as I waited for the kids to finish.
