Computer Problems

Lately I have had a lot of computer issues and so haven’t been able to blog. Last Sunday afternoon my son, Michael, came over with his two boys to spray some bushes for me and let the boys play. The boys and my girls played soccer and we made ice cream and it was a lot of fun. I took lots of pictures and planned to blog, but my pictures would not load onto my computer. I tried over and over and over, but the computer kept telling me it could not recognize my card. I thought the SD card was bad so gave up. Then a few days later I had the same problem again. It was very frustrating. I finally got a few pictures to load and decided to do a short post tonight. I really need to get a new computer soon.

Anyway, I went out the other evening while Tess was doing a few things with the chickens. I walked around and looked at our garden and the chickens – trying to figure out all the things that need to be done. I have a lot to do to get the area looking good. I have flower seeds to plant, but haven’t gotten around to it and it’s probably too late now. I will still probably plant them, though.

Our little garden doesn’t look bad. We have lots of peppers growing and some strawberries and the blackberries are really getting big. We also have some rosemary, but need to plant more. I think I will get that done tomorrow and maybe get a few tomatoes planted. It is a very small garden, but that suits me fine. The good thing is that it is totally enclosed so the deer and other animals can’t get in and eat everything. I have my SIL, Jonathan, to thank for that. He did such a nice job building the enclosure last year. I really love it.

Well, summer is quickly coming and we are pretty happy about that. I have so many things I planned to do, though I probably won’t get everything done. I plan to start with getting our backyard cleaned up and some flowers planted and maybe a small walkway put down around our chicken houses. We have a lot of doctor appointments this week – 5 to be exact – so that will slow us down. But, I am still hopeful we will get a few things done. I’m just so glad warm weather is here to stay for awhile.

Sourdough

Friday afternoon we had a sourdough class at our home with family and a few friends. It was a very small group, but ended up being so nice. I think everyone really enjoyed the class and I know Abigail has really taken to making all kinds of things with her starter. When I talked to her this evening she was making sourdough banana bread with chocolate chips. Megan has brought us bread almost every morning for the past two or three weeks so we have eaten delicious homemade bread for breakfast almost every morning. We had chocolate chip sourdough bread this morning that Bethany, Tess and Aria made. I told Megan that it was so much fun we should do another class sometime. She said she thinks the same woman that taught our class teaches several others so, who knows, we just might.

We are all ready for summer and we only have a few more weeks of school – though we may do a little school this summer. Our chickens are laying so many eggs for us and it is really nice to have fresh eggs every morning. We are very glad we got our chickens.

I know I have been behind in blogging again and I’m not sure why, but it just seems I can’t keep up lately. I tell myself constantly that I will get back to it and catch up with all the news and then I realize it has been weeks. Maybe with summer coming I will do better. I am hoping to have a nice quiet summer with lots of family activities.
